Job Title: Tax Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant    Reports to: Tax Partner
Job Summary: As the Tax Bookkeeper/Admin Assistant, you will prepare accounting entries using QuickBooks as well as diverse administrative duties for the Tax team.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process tax returns including electronic filing and assembly and delivery to clients.
  • Prepare accounting journal entries, trial balance and financial statements for our clients using QuickBooks.
  • Prepare bank reconciliation reports.
  • Assist with accounting and tax activities including but not limited to payroll and invoices.
  • Maintain multiple software programs including CCH Access Workflow, Outlook, and Practice in such a manner as creating new clients and setting up new projects.
  • Prepare and coordinate delivery of department correspondence including binding and mailing financial statements, creating engagement letters/proposals, creating powers of attorney, and assembling and sending out A/R statements to clients.
  • Assist in project meetings and assign engagement projects.
  • Assist in preparing engagement letters.
  • Assist in client account management.
  • Maintain department accounts and equipment including but not limited to copier maintenance, postage printing and FedEx deliveries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience with bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel).
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks.
  • Knowledge of payroll taxes and sales tax is preferred.

Education and Licenses:

  • High School Diploma
  • Some college work preferred
