Tax Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant

, ,Job Title: Tax Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant Reports to: Tax Partner
Job Summary: As the Tax Bookkeeper/Admin Assistant, you will prepare accounting entries using QuickBooks as well as diverse administrative duties for the Tax team.

Hours Required: 40+ hrs FLSA Status: Exempt
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Process tax returns including electronic filing and assembly and delivery to clients.
- Prepare accounting journal entries, trial balance and financial statements for our clients using QuickBooks.
- Prepare bank reconciliation reports.
- Assist with accounting and tax activities including but not limited to payroll and invoices.
- Maintain multiple software programs including CCH Access Workflow, Outlook, and Practice in such a manner as creating new clients and setting up new projects.
- Prepare and coordinate delivery of department correspondence including binding and mailing financial statements, creating engagement letters/proposals, creating powers of attorney, and assembling and sending out A/R statements to clients.
- Assist in project meetings and assign engagement projects.
- Assist in preparing engagement letters.
- Assist in client account management.
- Maintain department accounts and equipment including but not limited to copier maintenance, postage printing and FedEx deliveries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- 0-2 years of experience with bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of payroll taxes and sales tax is preferred.
Education and Licenses:
- High School Diploma
- Some college work preferred
